CCCEU, EUCCC to Co-host Fifth EU-China Business Leaders Roundtable Dialogue in Brussels
"Rebalancing the Relationship, Tapping into New Potential": Exploring New Opportunities for Market Access and Cooperation on the Twin Transitions

The fifth EU-China Business Leaders Roundtable Dialogue will take place in Brussels on 29 October. Co-hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU (CCCEU) and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC), the event will bring together senior representatives of the Chinese and European business communities under the theme "Rebalancing the Relationship, Tapping into New Potential". It will provide a platform for candid and constructive exchanges on market access, industrial coexistence, sustainable engagement and the twin transitions, while exploring new opportunities for China-EU economic and trade cooperation. H.E. Ambassador Cai Run, Head of the Chinese Mission to the European Union, will deliver a keynote address.
China-EU economic and trade relations are at an important juncture. Amid changing market conditions, industrial transformation and shared business concerns, addressing differences, identifying common ground and fostering mutually beneficial cooperation remain priorities for businesses on both sides. Drawing on companies' practical experience and development needs, the dialogue will examine ways to improve market access, promote industrial coexistence and support sustainable engagement. It will also explore opportunities arising from the green and digital transitions, as well as the potential for greater cooperation in trade in services.
The programme will feature keynote speeches and roundtable discussions. Ambassador Cai Run, representatives from the European side, and the heads of the two co-hosting chambers — Mr. Liu Jiandong,
Chairman of the CCCEU, and Mr. Jens Eskelund, President of the EUCCC — will share their perspectives on China-EU economic and trade relations and prospects for business cooperation. The opening session will be jointly moderated by Mr. Fang Dongkui, Secretary General of the CCCEU, and Mr. Adam Dunnett, Secretary General of the EUCCC.
The roundtable discussions will address two main themes. The first, "Navigating Challenges Together: Market Access, Industrial Coexistence and Sustainable Engagement," will focus on market access, industrial development and the challenges facing businesses on both sides. The second, "Unlocking New Growth Engines: Exploring New Pathways in the Twin Transitions and Trade in Services," will examine opportunities for cooperation in the green and digital transitions and trade in services.
The discussions will combine presentations, Q&A sessions and an interactive exchange of views, giving business representatives from both sides an opportunity to share insights from their operations and investment activities, address common concerns and deepen mutual understanding.
The event will be held behind closed doors and is open to invited participants only. This dialogue aims to strengthen communication and trust between the Chinese and European business communities, foster a better understanding of each side's perspectives and expand opportunities for practical cooperation.
