Q: What is the position of Chinese AI model developers regarding EU policies? Are many Chinese models being sold on the EU market?

The CCCEU: We understand that Chinese AI model developers are actively looking to enter the European market, build local partnerships, and align with the EU's regulatory frameworks.

Some major European enterprises—including Siemens, Renault, and Orange—are reportedly pursuing hybrid AI strategies that integrate models from US, Chinese, and European providers. With the expanding availability of high-performing open-source models, European companies are increasingly able to access, deploy, and customize these models efficiently and cost-effectively. Additionally, a growing number of European tech startups are procuring API services from Chinese AI providers.

Through its engagement with member companies and stakeholders in Europe, the CCCEU has seen growing interest in deeper China-Europe cooperation in AI and greater access to China's dynamic AI market.

The CCCEU believes that AI should be an area of cooperation, not fragmentation. Europe stands to benefit from engaging with AI innovation and solutions from around the world, including China.
