Invitation | Navigating GDPR: Ensuring Compliance in Cross-border Data Transfers
In today's interconnected world, the transfer of personal data across borders is a common practice. This webinar will explore the complexities and legal frameworks surrounding data transfers from the European Economic Area (EEA)to non-EEA countries, such as China. We will delve into the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements, including adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, and binding corporate rules. Participants will gain insights into the necessary safeguards to ensure data protection and compliance when transferring data outside the EEA. The session will also cover practical examples and case studies to illustrate the application of these regulations in real-world scenarios. Speakers will discuss, among others, Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs) and Intra-Group Data Transfer Agreements (IGDTAs) and matters to consider before implementing a global corporate IT system in the EEA.
