XU Chen

Mr. Xu Chen joined the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU (CCCEU) in 2023, and he served as the Chairman of the CCCEU. Concurrently, he also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank of China (Europe) S.A. and General Manager of Bank of China Limited Luxembourg Branch. 

During his chairmanship of CCCEU, Mr. Xu headed the Board of the CCCEU in its leadership function, guiding the CCCEU's decision-making process and strategic planning.

Xu Chen started his banking career in 1990 at Bank of China Head Office. He has accumulated over three decades of professional knowledge and management experience, holding key positions in various fields ranging from energy finance to corporate banking, FI business, insurance, and globalisation work. In addition, from 2005 to 2008, Mr. Xu served as General Manager of the Olympic Service Office, which was specially dedicated to ensuring the best banking services for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, of which Bank of China was the sole bank partner. His business acumen and dedication have contributed to the development and growth of Bank of China Group.

Mr. Xu has also acquired extensive overseas working experience, serving as Deputy General Manager at Bank of China London Branch and later as President and CEO at Bank of China U.S.A. New York Branch. While working in the United States, he was elected and re-elected as Chairman of the China General Chamber of Commerce U.S.A. (CGCC), a non-profit organisation with membership of over 1,500 companies from both China and the United States and with a mission to promote China-US business cooperation. Mr. Xu was also elected Chairman of the CGCC Foundation, a charitable organisation affiliated with the CGCC.

Mr. Xu Chen holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management and Information Systems from Tsinghua University, China, and a Master's Degree from the University of International Business and Economics, China, with a major in Business Management.
