CCCEU Finance Working Group and Clifford Chance Jointly Held a Roundtable on EU Banking Regulatory Developments
The Finance Working Group of the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU (CCCEU) and renowned global law firm Clifford Chance jointly held an exclusive roundtable on the EU's banking regulatory developments on October 24 in Luxembourg, gathering executives and experts engaged in high-level discussions on recent regulatory changes impacting the banking sector within the bloc.
Members of the CCCEU Finance Working Group, including Bank of China, ICBC, China Construction Bank, Agriculture Bank of China, Bank of Communications, China Merchants Bank, China Everbright Bank and Taiping Insurance joined both in person and remotely from various branches across EU member states.
The roundtable provided a comprehensive overview of critical updates in EU banking regulations, facilitated by experts from Clifford Chance's regulatory teams from offices across Luxembourg, London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Milan. Topics covered included the EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation, the role and authority of the newly established EU Anti-Money Laundering Authority, and the impact of the amended EU Capital Requirements Directive. Additionally, the event placed special emphasis on regulatory issues facing third-country branches of the Chinese banks operating in the EU, offering insights into adapting to these evolving requirements.
