On August 29, 2024, Wu Ye, Chairwoman of Bank of Communications (Luxembourg) Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Bank of Communications Luxembourg"), participated in an in-depth interview as part of the annual flagship report organized by the CCCEU and the global management consulting firm Roland Berger. During the interview, she highlighted that the European market offers numerous opportunities for Chinese enterprises and Chinese financial institutions. The interview was hosted by Fang Dongkui, Secretary General of the CCCEU.

Secretary General Fang noted that next year will mark the tenth anniversary of Bank of Communications Luxembourg's establishment. As an important member of the CCCEU's Financial Working Group, Bank of Communications Luxembourg plays a significant role in supporting the overseas development of Chinese enterprises in Europe, particularly in the fields of green and sustainable development. The bank's operations and its assessment of the business environment in Luxembourg and Europe are key components in evaluating the business environment within the EU's financial industry.

Chairwoman Wu Ye provided insights into the operations of Bank of Communications Luxembourg and shared her views on the development of Chinese enterprises and Chinese financial institutions in Europe. She emphasized that in the increasingly complex geopolitical landscape, the bank remains committed to its strategy of "rooted in Luxembourg, serving the European region." Recently, Europe's green industries and standards have presented significant opportunities for Chinese enterprises to expand into Europe, offering a platform to align with advanced European standards and to showcase the image of Chinese companies. Bank of Communications Luxembourg is dedicated to supporting Chinese enterprises, particularly in high-value-added sectors such as infrastructure, clean energy, electric vehicles, and high-end equipment, in their investment and development efforts in Europe.

Bank of Communications Luxembourg is a fully licensed independent legal entity established by the Bank of Communications in Luxembourg. It officially commenced operations on April 16, 2015, with a current registered capital of €350 million. The bank established branches in Paris, France, and Rome, Italy, in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

Founded in 1908, Bank of Communications is one of the oldest banks in China. After its re-establishment, it officially resumed operations on April 1, 1987, becoming the first nationwide state-owned joint-stock commercial bank in China, with its headquarters in Shanghai. The bank was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in June 2005 and on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in May 2007. In 2023, it ranked ninth among global banks by Tier 1 capital, according to The Banker magazine.
