Focusing on "China-Europe Green Transformation and Industrial Cooperation," the 2024 ZGC Forum - Brussels Parallel Forum successfully held

Coordinated by China Chamber of Commerce to the EU (CCCEU), the Zhongguancun (ZGC) Forum 2024 – Brussels Parallel Forum successfully convened in Brussels on April 26, 2024.

With the focus on "China-EU Green Transition and Industrial Cooperation," the event was hosted by ZGC Science Park and the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), and organized by TusPark Belgium and TusPark Europe Innovation Centre.

The forum, which saw the collaboration of the CCCEU, the EU-China Business Association (EUCBA), Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (BCECC), and Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce (FCCC), attracted nearly 150 representatives from China and Europe, including government officials, industry leaders, scholars, and entrepreneurs. Discussions centered on topics such as the green economy, innovative technology, and new energy vehicles.

In a video speech, Beijing Vice Mayor Tan Xuxiang highlighted the ZGC Forum's importance as a national platform for global technological and innovative exchange, integral to Beijing's aspiration to become a leading digital economy city and an international science and innovation hub. He emphasized Beijing's commitment to fostering international collaborations in green technology and energy conservation to contribute to a shared global future.

Zhu Jing, charge d'affaires of the Chinese Mission to the EU, emphasized the strong consensus between China and Europe on green and low-carbon development, underscoring the importance of strengthening green cooperation to address climate change challenges and support sustainable development goals.

The Chairman of the CCCEU and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank of China (Europe) S.A., Xu Chen, remarked on the forefront role of the EU and China in green transition, underlining the significant responsibility to reduce carbon footprints and promote sustainable development. A 2023 CCCEU survey of 180 Chinese-funded enterprises in Europe showed a strategic focus on the green economy, viewing it as an opportunity rather than a challenge. Chairman Xu emphasized the importance of enhancing dialogue and cooperation in green sectors to achieve mutual benefits.

IASP Vice President Salvatore Majorana expressed his honor in co-hosting the forum with ZGC, emphasizing IASP's commitment to collaborative innovation for improving lives, with green technology playing a crucial role. Representatives from China and Europe convened to celebrate achievements in green transition and industry cooperation, with a focus on clarifying the current situation and exploring further joint actions for a safer and healthier planet.

The forum's moderator, Mr. Wang Dexiang, the head of TusPark Europe, introduced the history and development of the ZGC Forum and TusHoldings' extensive international cooperation in green and renewable energy sectors. He expressed TusHoldings' commitment to supporting China-Europe cooperation through its TusPark in Europe, including TusPark Cambridge.

Keynote speeches, chaired by EUCBA Executive Director Gwenn Sonck, featured discussions on green development cooperation, investments in green infrastructure, chemical industry transformation, ESG regulations in international business, and cutting-edge energy storage solutions.

The high-level dialogue on China-Europe cooperation in the new energy vehicle industry, chaired by BCECC Chairman Bernard Dewit, included representatives from companies and industry chains such as Volvo Cars, NIO, IEE, and Windrose Technology.
