On April 18, 2024, Wuhan NIO Energy Co., Ltd. ("NIO Power") and SAIC General Motors Sales Company Ltd. ("SGM") signed the cooperation agreement on opening up the charging networks to each other.

According to the agreement, all users of SAIC General Motors will have access to NIO's charging network which covers many frequent use cases, including expressways, business districts, office spaces, residential areas, scenic spots and hotels. Later, the new energy vehicle (NEV) users of SAIC-GM's Cadillac and Buick can also locate one of many NIO chargers, view its rate and operating status, plan a route to the charger, scan to charge, and pay for the charging service via the apps of their own cars.

As of now, NIO has put in place 3,767 charging stations and 21,912 NIO Chargers, including 364 NIO Power Charger Stations and 1,422 NIO Power Chargers along the expressways. NIO Chargers have been open to users of all NEV brands since the very beginning, and 80% of the electricity has been provided to non-NIO EVs.
