The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2024 commenced on March 28 at the BFA International Convention Center. The CCCEU Secretary General, Fang Dongkui, joined forces with Former Undersecretary of State, Italian Ministry of Economic Development, Michele Geraci, to co-chair a dynamic China-Europe CEO Dialogue.

The theme of this year's China-Europe CEO Dialogue is China-Europe expanding cooperation and working together to address global challenges. Distinguished guests from China and Europe discussed trade relations, the digital economy, and the green economy in insightful exchanges.

SG Fang emphasized that despite ideological and political differences, there are no fundamental conflicts of interest or geopolitical contradictions between China and Europe. However, challenges arise due to external tensions, especially major power games and the Ukraine crisis, which have strained political trust.

Internally, the complementarity of trade, investment, and green and digital transitions presents enormous potential for collaboration. Globally, as major markets and forces, China and Europe have the responsibility to stabilize the global economy and address challenges like climate change and public health, contributing to world development and prosperity.

The event was joined by business leaders, financiers, and bankers from China and Europe, along with ambassadors and scholars from think tanks.
