On January 9th, the Secretary General of China Chamber of Commerce to the EU (CCCEU), Mr. Fang Dongkui, participated virtually in the "Go Cloud, Go GLOBAL, Huawei Cloud China-Europe Leaders Forum" and delivered a keynote address.

In his speech, Mr. Fang Dongkui underscored the growing trend of integrating industry with digital technologies. He emphasized the pivotal role of digital transformation in establishing new advantages within the digital economy, a prerequisite for achieving high-quality development in the industrial sector.

Taking a broader perspective on China-EU relations, Fang highlighted the strategic importance of these ties amid the complexities of the international landscape. Since 2023, China and the EU have fully restored interactions across all levels, engaging in comprehensive dialogues and cooperation across diverse fields. This sustained, all-encompassing dialogue has demonstrated the resilience and vitality of China-EU trade.

In November 2023, the CCCEU released its fifth consecutive report on the development of Chinese enterprises in the EU, titled "Building Trust, Boosting Prosperity—CCCEU Report on the Development of Chinese Enterprises in the EU 2023/2024." The report revealed that Chinese enterprises in Europe are eager to see improved digital trust between China and the EU, advocating for a fair, just, and non-discriminatory business environment. They aspire to deepen cooperation in the digital realm, fostering mutual benefits and promoting complementary digital industries.

Fang also highlighted Huawei's longstanding presence in Europe, spanning over two decades, during which the company has been dedicated to building local ICT infrastructure and providing secure and advanced telecommunications networks for the European public. Huawei Cloud has played a pivotal role in offering excellent cloud services for digital transformation across various sectors of European society.
