CCCEU Holds Meeting with Chinese Electric Vehicle Industry Leaders
On October 12, 2023, the CCCEU convened a meeting with prominent Chinese electric (EV) companies to delve into the progress of Chinese EV enterprises in Europe and their responses to the European Commission's ongoing anti-subsidy investigation. The gathering was graced by delegates from a dozen Chinese EV and EV-related enterprises operating within the EU.
The meeting deliberated on the development and impacts of the European Commission's anti-subsidy probe into Chinese EVs. Notably, the swift launch of this investigation by the Commission, absent an industry complaint from within the bloc, underscores the immediate and future challenges that Chinese EV companies may face in Europe.
Discussions also highlighted the increasing involvement of European and American automakers in the Chinese market, as well as their deep integration into the Chinese industry supply chain within the EV manufacturing sector.
The chamber will closely follow the proceedings of the EU's anti-subsidy probe and continue its engagement with companies in the EV sector.
