On April 17th, 2023, the CCCEU held a preparatory meeting for its upcoming Finance Working Group (FWG) in Luxembourg. Representatives from Bank of China (Europe), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Europe), Agricultural Bank of China (Luxembourg), China Construction Bank (Europe), Bank of Communications (Luxembourg), China Merchants Bank (Luxembourg), China Everbright Bank (Luxembourg), and Taiping Insurance (Luxembourg) attended the event.

Mr. Xu Chen, Chairman of Bank of China (Europe), kindly welcomed attendees during the meeting.

Mr. Fang Dongkui, Secretary General of the CCCEU, provided an update regarding the background and preparation process of the chamber’s FWG.

The meeting then had an in-depth discussion on the work plan of the working group.

The CCCEU proposed that the FWG be chaired by ICBC (Europe), with other financial institutions acting as vice chairs and non-bank entities and foreign banks participating as members or observers.

The chamber plans to officially launch the FWG at its general assembly later in May.
