On November 25, M.V. COSCO SHIPPING HARMONY berthed safely at berth No. 1 of CSP Vado Terminal in Italy with the escort of two tugboats. This is the first voyage of the special liner launched by COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, the world's largest special carrier company under COSCO SHIPPING, for commercial vehicle export to the Mediterranean.

Loaded with 2,387 China-produced commercial vehicles, the vessel set sail from China to Italy on October 24. It was the first time that the special transport mode featuring a "collapsible special frame for commercial vehicles" created by COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers had served Chinese automobile manufacturers on the Mediterranean route. It can provide customers with end-to-end logistics services for commercial vehicle export and realize one-stop direct delivery from domestic auto manufacturers to overseas customers.

To address the difficulty in export transport for China's commercial vehicle manufacturers, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers independently developed a "special collapsible frame for commercial vehicles," which takes into full consideration the mainstream size of commercial vehicles and the structure of the cargo hold of multi-purpose pulp vessels. The frame has a designed length of 48 feet, which makes it capable of loading three full-sized vehicles and being stacked eight layers high in a cargo hold.

In line with the characteristics of these cargoes, the Operation Department of Vado Terminal also developed a differentiated operational plan in advance, focusing on tackling the difficulties of transporting extra-long frames. Through orderly scheduling and efficient connection of key operations, including unloading, transportation, and storage, it managed to complete the operation six hours earlier than planned.

This special liner service for commercial vehicles between Taicang (China) and Vado Ligure (Italy) has opened up a new export channel for Chinese automobiles to reach the Mediterranean market with a brand-new transportation mode, helping to guarantee the stability of the supply chain and industrial chain of China's auto industry and facilitating Chinese automobile enterprises to go global at a quicker pace.
