BGI announces that its SARS-CoV-2 Virus Antigen Detection Kit (Colloidal Gold Method) – self-test version has obtained the European CE marking for in vitro diagnostic use (CE-IVDD).

The self-test kit is a colloidal gold immunoassay for the rapid qualitative determination of nucleocapsid protein of SARS-CoV-2 in nasal swabs. Untrained users can easily use the kit as a rapid test for SARS-CoV-2 antigen detection.

Over 490,000 new infections were reported in Europe in one day, on April 4, according to Reuters’ COVID-19 Global Tracker. BGI’s rapid test for SARS-CoV-2 antigen detection will offer a reliable and convenient option for the communities in European countries.
