Second edition of the “School for Female Leadership in the Digital Age” to be held 21st-25th February in the South of France
Following the success of the first edition of the Summer School for Female Leadership in the Digital Age held in August 2021 in Lisbon, Portugal, Huawei’s European Leadership Academy is today announcing that the first Winter School for Female Leadership in the Digital Age will be held from 21 to 25 February 2022 in Nice, France.
As part of Huawei’s broader initiative Seeds for the Future, the “School for Female Leadership in the Digital Age” represents the company’s continued commitment to furthering digital inclusion; specifically, closing the gender gap, and creating a world where women are empowered to not just participate, but to thrive and lead us into the digital future.
Tony Jin, Huawei’s Chief Representative to the European Institutions, said: “The upcoming Winter School is another outstanding opportunity for future leaders to gain new insights into technology. Huawei remains committed to supporting European talent, and I look forward to working together with our French partners to make the programme even stronger.”
Berta Herrero, Programme Director of the School for Female Leadership in the Digital Age, said: “Making sure diversity actually exists in the development of technologies is the first step to building a truly equal, inclusive world. To overcome biases, women must be able to shape and lead the tech revolution. Our curriculum equips young women with the tools needed to be the leaders of Europe’s digital transition.”
Catherine Chen, President of the Public Affairs and Communication Department, Huawei, said: “This School enables future leaders to enhance their skills and to learn from each other. Over my 26 years in the ICT industry, I have been keenly aware of the gender gap in my industry. Europe and China both face this problem. The EU is pioneering in its attempts to address this, and companies like Huawei can play a key role through initiatives like our Winter School.”
