On October 16, 2020, Kong Yu, coordinator of the CCCEU digital economy working group, chaired a working meeting with Bin Chuan, deputy coordinator, other members of the working group and colleagues from the Secretariat of CCCEU attending the discussion.

CCCEU digital economy working group discussed the "Global Initiative on Data Security" document announced by State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi at International Seminar on Global Digital Governance in Sept. The participants have also discussed  on how to carry out the digital economy work, further integrate into the European Union's digital transformation and make the Chinese enterprises in the EU better understood.

In response to the development that 41 European Parliament members submitted a joint letter to European Commission recently, listing Huawei and ZTE as high-risk suppliers and claiming security threat of their technologies in the European 5G network, the working group formulated countermeasures to strive for fairness for the future development of digital economy of Chinese enterprises in the EU.
