On March 23, the board of directors of the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU (CCCEU) welcomed Xiamen Torch Group Co., Ltd. as its 60th official full member since its inauguration, which Premier Li Keqiang attended in Brussels on April 8 last year.

Xiamen Torch Group is a diversified national enterprise involved in land development, construction of public facilities, development and operation management of park assets, bonded logistics, property management and other services. Under the framework of the EU's digital and green dual-core-driven economic strategy, the initiation of Xiamen Torch Group strengthens mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Europe.

At a time when EU countries are struggling against the outbreak of COVID-19, Xiamen Torch Group responded positively to the call from CCCEU to donate 50,000 medical masks to France and 30,000 to Belgium.

Lihong Zhou, CCCEU chairperson, congratulated Xiamen Torch Group on joining the organization, and expressed her sincere gratitude for its substantial contribution and corporate social responsibility in the battle against COVID-19. "On behalf of the CCCEU Members, I warmly welcome Xiamen Torch Group to join the CCCEU, a China-Europe public welfare platform, and I look forward to the group playing a crucial role in advancing the China-EU digital economy and common beneficial cooperation in high-tech fields", said Zhou.

Founded by Bank of China (Luxembourg) S.A., China Three Gorges (Europe) S.A., and COSCO Europe GmbH in August 2018, the Brussels-based China Chamber of Commerce to the EU (CCCEU) now represents up to 60 members and chambers in member states, covering about 1,000 Chinese enterprises in the EU.

The CCCEU is a platform between China and the EU, and it strives to serve the best interests of enterprises investing in the EU; to reflect their opinions, suggestions and concerns to related European institutions or member states; and to explore ways to enhance the image of Chinese businesses in this multicultural continent.
