China State Construction Engineering Corporation
Established in 1982, China State Construction is the largest investment and construction group in the world, with seven listed companies and more than 100 secondary holding subsidiaries. China State Construction was the first enterprise in China to marketize and pursue specialized development. It is the only enterprise in the construction industry managed by the central government.
In 2017, the total of new contracts signed by China State Construction exceeded CNY 2 trillion, with its operating revenue and total profit ranking fourth and sixth respectively among China's 102 central state-owned enterprises. In 2018, the group ranked 23rd in the Fortune Global 500, third in the Fortune China 500, and 44th in the Brand Finance Global 500. China State Construction has been awarded an "A" credit rating, the highest in the global construction industry, by the three major international rating agencies S&P, Moody's, and Fitch.
China State Construction conducts business in more than 100 countries, spanning investment and development, engineering and construction, surveying and design, and new fields such as green construction, energy-saving and environmental protection, and e-commerce. In China, the group has built more than 90% of skyscrapers over 300 meters tall, 75% of large-scale airports and satellite launch bases, and 50% of all nuclear power plants. One out of every 25 Chinese people live in a house built by China State Construction.
